Course
description: This
one day course will offer participants the opportunity to reflect on
the reading environment in their setting, and to consider ways that
it might be developed with reference to the nature and needs of young
children. We will discuss ways of choosing, organising and using quality
books with young children and reflect upon the role of the adult in
encouraging all children to become enthusiastic readers for life.
Suitable
for: Early
Years/ Foundation Stage classroom teachers, library co-ordinators and
support assistants.
Tutor:
Helen Bromley is a freelance consultant and writer. Helen has taught
in the early years for 16 years before working as an advisory teacher
in a wide variety of settings. She spent three years as an advisory
teacher with the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, in the London
Borough of Southwark.
