Course
description: Alan
Gibbons is an impassioned
advocate of using books to stimulate children's imagination and creative
writing. By encouraging reading for pleasure we expose children to the
variety of expression and language which they then use verbally and
in their writing.
In this course Alan Gibbons will examine what kind of environment is
needed to encourage boys to read and write. He will illustrate examples
of good practice and strategies to get boys both reading and writing
and explore the link between the two disciplines. He will look at the
visual, oral and kinaesthetic cues that can turn boys into more confident
writers.
