Course
description: On
this intensive workshop expect to make over twenty different book forms
using only paper and scissors. Each one is focused on a particular genre
of writing across the curriculum subjects including history, geography
and science. An emphasis is placed on motivating under performing pupils
and reluctant writers. Attention will also be given to ways in which
the book form enables children as young as four years of age to plan
and structure their work, and how it assists purposeful extended writing
at KS1 and the planning, drafting and presenting of fiction and non-fiction
texts at KS2.

for: F - Y7
teachers, teaching assistants, nursery assistants and any other interested
staff.
Tutor:
Paul Johnson is well known for his courses on developing literacy through
the book arts. He is author of several books on the subject including
A Book of One's Own, Literacy Through the Book Arts and most recently
Get Writing!
