| The
books discussed at the Children's Choice event really did reflect
the name of the day. Pupils from Jupiter Drive Primary - Hemel
Hempstead, Priorswood - Ware, Monks Walk - Welwyn Garden City
and Westfield Community Technology College - Watford, worked with
teachers and library staff in school and with Schools Library
Service to agree the short -listed titles for discussion on the
day. |

St Albans
based author Pete Johnson had titles on both the Primary and
Secondary longlists and "Help! I'm a classroom gambler"
was on the Secondary Shortlist. When SLS staff were thinking
about who to invite as a speaker on the day, Pete was the
obvious choice. He kept both his audiences thoroughly engaged
and involved and he really was the Children's Choice!
