What
is 'Team Read'?
'Team
Read' is the tenth national summer reading challenge for children
and young people. It's not about reading as many books as you
can, but about exploring your public library and enjoying the
books you read. It's also about getting active - the theme of
this year's challenge.
What
do I need to do to take part?
- Come into
the library and sign up for the challenge.
- You will
be given a 'Team Read' pack to record your progress throughout
the challenge.
- Borrow
books from the library.

- You can
choose books from all sections of the library, including picture
books, fiction, information books and talking books
You
may find it useful to fill in a review sheet as a reminder of
the books you've read
-
Return
to the library to chat to a member
of staff about one of the items you've borrowed.
-
For
every 2 books you read as part of 'Team Read' you will be rewarded
with exclusive sticker sheets.
-
The
challenge is completed when you've read 6 books and collected
all the sheets of stickers.
-
If
you complete the challenge, you'll be awarded with a 'Team
Read' certificate and medal at a special presentation ceremony.
-
As
an optional extra, there are fun activities to try on-line too!
You can 'meet' some of your favourite authors by logging on to
the Team Read website by following the link on the right of this
page.
-
If
you would like to take part in the challenge, you'll need to be
a library member. If you're not a member of the library, don't
wait until the challenge starts to join.
